Parental Controls Of  Windows Media Center In Windows 7:

Microsoft windows 7 has some new features. It is more reliable to use and very easy to configure. You can lock some your documents,music video using windows media centre parental contril.You can use Parental Controls in Windows Media Center to prevent children from watching objectionable TV shows and movies.  

With parental controls enabled, every time you start playing content, that has a rating higher than the specified threshold, you will get prompted for the PIN. This happens even if you press stop, and then play on the same show. (I like TiVo’s implementation, where once you enter the PIN, parental controls will be disabled for a time, or until the DVR is turned off.)While in the PIN entry screen, content is playing in the background. So if you take a while to enter the PIN, you will have to rewind to not miss any of the content.

When you turn on Parental Controls, you'll be asked to create an access code that you can use later to access restricted content or to change parental control settings. Only TV shows and movies that don't exceed the maximum allowed rating can be viewed without the access code. Not all TV shows and movies are rated, so you can also configure Parental Controls to block unrated content.

To set Parental Controls :
On the Windows Media Center start screen, scroll to Tasks, click Settings, click General, and then click Parental Controls.
If this is the first time you've accessed Parental Controls, you'll be asked to type and confirm a 4-digit number to use as your access code. We recommend that you write this code down for future reference.

Do one of the following:

• To set Parental Controls for TV programs
• Click TV Ratings, select the Turn on TV blocking check box, 
• Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to select a maximum allowed rating. 
• If you want to restrict content that's not rated, 
• Select the Block unrated TV programs check box (this is optional). 
• Click Save. 

To adjust the settings by content in addition to rating, 

• Click Advanced. 
• There are five areas that you can set restrictions for: fantasy violence,
• Suggestive dialogue, offensive language, sexual content, and violence. 

To set Parental Controls for DVDs and movies

• Click Movie/DVD Ratings, 
• Select the Turn on movie blocking check box,
• Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to select a rating. 
• If you want to restrict content that's not rated, 
• Select the Block unrated movies check box (this is optional). 
• Click Save. 

To change the access code

On the Windows Media Center start screen, scroll to Tasks, 

• Click Settings, click General, click Parental Controls
• Type your current access code. 

Click Change Access Code.

Type and confirm a new 4-digit access code, and then click OK.

To reset Parental Controls
On the Windows Media Center start screen, scroll to Tasks

• Cick Settings, click General
• Click Parental Controls, 
• Type your current access code. 

Click Reset Parental Controls.
Click Yes to remove the access code and disable all restrictions.
Important 
Parental Controls aren't available in some countries or regions.
Media Center uses the ratings from the TV broadcast signal to determine which shows to block. In rare cases, the Guide rating might not match the rating information received from the TV broadcast signal.
